The background of this research focuses on the low Islamic communication ethics among students at SMA Kyai Ageng Basyariyah Sewulan, which is evident from their disrespectful behavior, such as a lack of respect for teachers, the use of impolite language, and a tendency to spread information without verification. This indicates that students have not fully applied the principles of Islamic communication ethics in their daily interactions. Additionally, there are challenges in maintaining good communication ethics in the modern era, where the influences of family environment, peers, and social groups play a significant role in shaping students' attitudes and communication behaviors.
The objectives of this research are as follows: 1) To analyze the influence of family communication on the Islamic communication ethics of students at SMA Kyai Ageng Basyariyah. 2) To analyze the influence of peer communication on the Islamic communication ethics of students at SMA Kyai Ageng Basyariyah. 3) To analyze the influence of group communication on the Islamic communication ethics of students at SMA Kyai Ageng Basyariyah. 4) To analyze the combined influence of family communication, peer communication, and group communication on the Islamic communication ethics of students at SMA Kyai Ageng Basyariyah.
The research method used is quantitative with an associative ex post facto research type. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 60 students in the 11th grade at SMA Kyai Ageng Basyariyah Sewulan. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistical techniques and linear regression to test the formulated hypotheses.
The research results indicate that 1) Family communication contributes 49.1% and has a significant influence on the Islamic communication ethics of students. 2) Peer communication contributes 48.8% and has a significant influence on the Islamic communication ethics of students. 3) Group communication contributes 49.9% and has a significant influence on the Islamic communication ethics of students. 4) Family communication, peer communication, and group communication collectively influence with a contribution of 47.7% on the Islamic communication ethics of students at SMA Kyai Ageng Basyariyah Sewulan.
