Abstract

ABSTRACT
In fact, the success of an Islamic boarding school cannot be separated from the role and participation of the community in promoting and developing Islamic boarding schools. Public relations practitioners at Islamic boarding schools must be able to read these opportunities and opportunities as best they can and take advantage of them so that their relationship with the community is getting closer. Society will certainly choose a quality educational institution. Not infrequently among them the dilemma of finding an institution that fits their hearts. It is from this background that the authors are interested in conducting a case study research entitled "Public Relations Participation in Islamic Boarding School Development (Case Study at Al-Islam Islamic Boarding School Joresan Mlarak Ponorogo)".
This study aims to determine Public Relations Participation of Al-Islam Islamic Boarding Schools in developing Islamic boarding schools. After that, it is also to find out the strategy prepared by public relations in developing Islamic boarding schools and the impact of implications for public relations participation in these institutions.
The approach in this study uses a qualitative approach, a type of case study research. Data analysis from this study used the interactive technique of Miles and Huberman, and Saldana, including data condensation, data presentation and drawing conclusions.
From the results of this study it was found that Public Relations participation in developing the Al-Islam Islamic Boarding School was through the following activities: participation in the form of money, assets, labor, skills, social, decision-making processes, and representation. The selected strategies include the following: a. Public Relations strategy in improving the performance of Human Resources, b. Public Relations strategy in improving products and services. While the impact of the implications for participation carried out by public relations is evidenced by the many successes achieved including: a. success of public relations in creating public trust b. the success of public relations in order to invite cooperation with other agencies c. success of public relations in building communication information with internal and external stakeholders d. empowering alumni as distributors of information and broadcasts to the community.

ABSTRAK
Sesungguhnya kebrhasilan sebuah pondok pesantren tidak bisa terlepas dari peran dan keikutsertaan masyarakat dalam memajukan dan mengembangkan pondok pesantren. Praktisi humas di pondok pesantren harus mampu membaca peluang dan kesempatan ini dengan sebaik mungkin serta memanfaatkannya agar hubungan mereka dengan masyarakat semakin erat. Masyarakat tentu akan memilih lembaga pendidikan yang berkualitas. Tak jarang diantara mereka dilema untuk menemukan lembaga yang pas dengan hati mereka. Dari latar belakang inilah, penulis tertarik untuk melakukan penelitian studi kasus dengan judul “Partisipasi Public Relations Dalam Pengembangan Pesantren (Studi Kasus di Pondok Pesantren Al-Islam Joresan Mlarak Ponorogo)”.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Partisipasi Public Relations Pondok Pesantren Al-Islam dalam mengembangkan pesantren. Setelah itu juga untuk mengetahui strategi yang disiapkan public relations dalam mengembangankan pesantren serta dampak implikasi atas partisipasi public relations terhadap lembaga tersebut.
Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, jenis penelitian studi kasus. Analisis data dari penelitian ini menggunakan teknik interaktif Miles and Huberman, dan Saldana, meliputi kondensasi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan.
Dari hasil penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa partisipasi Public Relations dalam mengembangan Pondok Pesantren Al-Islam melalui kegiatan berikut ini: partisipasi berupa uang, harta, tenaga, ketrampilan, sosial, proses pengambilan keputusan, dan representatif. Adapun strategi yang dipilih diantaranya sebagai berikut: a. Strategi Public Relations dalam meningkatkan kinerja Sumber Daya Manusia, b. Strategi Public Relations dalam meningkatkan produk dan layanan. Sedangkan dampak implikasi atas partisipasi yang dijalankan public relations dibuktikan dengan banyak keberhasilan yang diraih diantaranya: a. keberhasilan public relations dalam menciptakan kepercayaan masyarakat b. keberhasilan public relations dalam rangka mengajak kerjasama dengan instansi lain c. keberhasilan public relations dalam membangun informasi komunikasi dengan stakeholder internal dan eksternal d. mendayagunakan alumni sebagai penyalur informasi dan syiar kepada masyarakat.
