Abstract
Media has an important role in building and supporting the information and communication needs of the public. Instagram social media is a sharing medium, where users can freely interact, such as sharing information in the form of photos, videos assisted by information (captions). The development of social media can become a forum for citizen journalists to provide information. Citizen journalism utilizes the media to disseminate information quickly. One of them is the Instagram social media account @infoponorogo which is currently a forum for information for the community around Ponorogo. Therefore, when using Instagram social media as an information medium used by citizen journalists, they must pay attention to editorial management in its management. This research aims to find out how editorial management is implemented by the Instagram account @infoponorogo as a citizen journalism medium. The research method used is a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. The analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman interactive data analysis model. The research results show that: (1) The @infoponorogo planning stage is planning editorial management based on the results of issue research, including the latest news trends, considering targets, and preparing a posting schedule. (2) The @infoponorogo organizing stage in editorial management has been adjusted to the skills possessed by the management staff, such as involving editorial staff, marketing, reporters and other departments. (3) In the actuating stage @infoponorogo there is news sent by citizen journalism which will be managed through editing by considering the validity of the news, the management team also carries out reporting, writing and editing activities. (4) The controlling stage of @infoponorogo is carried out, involving measuring the reach of the content, evaluating obstacles in the field, and considering the content to be uploaded.
