In learning grammar, one of the things that we should not forget is studying the parts of speech. Parts of speech have several vocabularies, which are the essence of learning English. To master the four skills, vocabulary related to these parts of speech is needed because sentence building without vocabulary will not be a sentence. Parts of speech are significant in learning grammar because each type functions in forming phrases and sentences. A word can serve as more than one speech element when used in various situations.

This research enhances students’ understanding of identifying parts of speech using bingo game media. The aims of the research is to determine the use of bingo game to enhance student’s ability to identify parts of speech in the tenth grade of SMAN 1 Jetis Ponorogo. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The participants of this research were the first grades of SMAN 1 Jetis Ponorogo in the 2021/2022 academic year. The researcher conducted the research in one class (X IPS 1) of 14 students. This research was carried two cycles. Three meetings thought up in each cycle. In each cycle there were four stages, namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. This research data was collected using test; a pre-test and post-test, observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis technique in this research was the mean scores calculation.

After using the bingo game media, the student’s understanding of identifying parts of speech in the narrative text improved. The student’s mean score on the pre-test was 28.42. None of the students, or 0% of the total, scored above the passing grade. This score improved to 50.28 in post-test I, There was 1 of the students, or 7.14% of the total students, who got a score above the passing grade, meanwhile, the 13 others students were under the criterion. And even higher in post-test II, which is 88.00. There were 14 students or 100% of the total got scores above the passing grade. The researcher finds that implementing the Bingo game improves students' understanding in identifying parts of speech in narrative text.

The T-test value of this research is 10.68. and the T-table value is 2.160. it showed that the t-test value was higher than the t-table value (10.68 ≥ 2.160) at the level significance 0.05 (5%). So, it indicates a significant difference between the student’s post-test in cycle I and II results. Based on the data described above, it can be proved by looking at the mean score in post-test II as greater than post-test I, then the t-test was greater than the t-table. So, the researcher concluded that the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Hα) was accepted.
