Reading is the stepping – stone of learner’s success in education and life. Without the ability to read effectively, a learner will lose many opportunities of his/her personal fulfilments and education in the future. Teacher in MTs 05 Pacitan chooses cartoon videos to teach reading. The concept of the implementation of cartoon videos in teaching reading is to invite students to stimulate their ability by digging for information.
This research was conducted for several purposes, they are: to describe the implementation of cartoon videos to teach reading at the seventh grade of MTs 05 Pacitan and to describe student’s responses toward the implementation of cartoon videos to teach reading at the seventh grade of MTs 05 Pacitan.
This study used classroom action research. Classroom action research In research that uses the Lewin Kurt Theory there are four types, namely, planning action, observation and reflection The observation sheet is data collected during the study The results obtamed showed that there was a gradual development and improvement of students' listening abilities.
There are two eyeles in this study, they're the first cycle as the second Pre-Test and Cycle as a Post-Test. The minimum completeness standard for English lessons is 75.00. The results of the study at the Pre-Test were 11 students or 35.48% who achieved KKM with an average score of 75.00. While in the Post-Test section it shows that 29 students or 94.44% have reached the KKM. In this study, get a positive response from the Chairman of the English Subject/English Subject Teacher along with students in class seventh of MTs 05 Pacitan. Based on all the results, using a cartoon video it can be summed up that the use of video can enchance students' in their reading skills.
