In order to deliver moral education, educational media that are not only books are needed. Moral education can be conveyed through various media, one of which is music art. The phenomenon of the presence of music with various types and streams whose songs alienate humans from Islamic teachings, more or less have an influence on the mindset of human lifestyle, especially in today’s adolescents. The purpose of this research was to analyze kind of the moral educational values found in Harris J’s selected song lyric in salam album and the impact for human daily life.
This research applied a qualitative approach and used the library design. The subject of this study was the lyrics of Harris J’s selected song in Salam album. The data collection technique was a documentation technique while the data analysis technique was content analysis. The steps taken to analyze the data were listening to the songs, look for the meaning, analyzed the lyric contents, then from the analysis result interpreted the moral educational values contained in the song lyrics.
The researcher can conclude that there are moral education values. Moral towards Allah SWT found in the song lyrics entitled Eid Mubarak, Paradise, and You Are My Life that shows faith, gratitude, pray, tawakal, and have good prejudice to Allah. Moral towards Rasulullah contained in the song lyrics entitled My Hero. Morals towards family are in the song Lyrics Let Me Breathe, in the song shows how moral towards both parents. Morals towards oneself are in the song lyrics entitled Paradise, morals towards neighbors and society found in the song lyrics entitled Love Who You Are. Then morals towards the environment contained in the song lyrics entitled Worth It. Harris J. has succeeded in persuading people to always do good things every day through the songs he sang. Regarding religious songs from Harris, there are positive impacts among others, teaching us to always have faith in God, always be compassionate and obedient to the Prophet Muhammad, always spread peace, remain yourself without putting down others, and always looking after and loving both parents.
The researcher provides the suggestions that need to convey related to the result of the research, including:
1. For the songwriters to always pay attention to the songs they make. And it’s expected to create songs that have educational values and benefits. So that it can be used as a source of inspiration, motivation, and learning media in the world of education.
2. For music listeners to be more careful in choosing songs to listen. By listening to songs that have positive content or meaning, so the song can provide lessons and a positive impact on the listener as well.
3. Hopefully, this research can be used as a reference for parents, society, educators, and educational institutions in order to teach religious material, especially moral educational material that can be realized in daily life.
