In teaching and learning foreign language especially English for foreign language (EFL), the teacher must choose suitable stategy, media or technique. Each skill of English needs its own strategy and media to make the learners comprehend the material well. Not all of those skills are liked by the learners, usually there is a skill feels difficult to be learned. One of those is writing. In SMPN 4 Ponorogo more than using lecture method, the teacher prefered to use creative media such as game and realia or real object in teaching and learning process especially in writing. When commonly realia is applied by bringing something in the classroom for supporting the material, in this school the teacher carried the students go out the clasroom to recognize real things around the school related to the material. In giving instruction especially when instructed the students doing realia, the teacher always used English. But, when there were 50% of the students seemed could not get the material, the students would translated the instruction each sentence. Second, the students’ response was very positive. It showed when the researcher looked the students were very active during doing the assignments. In the end, the researcher concluded that realia and TPR applied positively in increasing students’ writing ability. Through this strategy, both the teacher and the students can achieve the goal of teaching-learning process.
